                                       June

Well, hello June, it is so nice to finally see you. Who else feels like we have been waiting forever to see her?

Tracy will be having another surgery on Friday, June 5th. She is expecting to be back at the salon on Tuesday, June 9th. This is unexpected but considered minor compared to previous ones. It should help with things in the future.

This can be a busy time of year for everyone. Make your appointment so your hair is fresh for whatever life throws at you. Graduation parties, weddings, and family gatherings. All kinds of great things to look spectacular for.

Lisa had a great time on vacation. They saw several states on the East side of the country. West Virginia was her favorite. The windy roads through the mountains were amazing. I bet they are stunning in the fall. If you have never seen West Virginia, it is highly recommended. Tom, her husband, really enjoyed D.C., which was a surprise to both of them. Life is short; if you can have adventures, go have them. Our country is beautiful with beautiful souls.

Happy 31st Anniversary Styleworks

It's hard to believe my journey with Styleworks Hair Studio began 30 years ago. Back in October 1995, I took a leap of faith and opened our first salon location in the plaza by Holiday gas station, with Show Biz Family Video an Tcby Frozen Yogurt as our neighbors. We started with hair and nail services, and before long, added tanning beds. For six years, that was home.

Life shifted when I became pregnant while raising two stepdaughters, and it was time to scale down for a bit. We moved into a smaller spot on Old 27 South, where I could balance family and work for the next three years. It worked for a time, but it still wasn't quite the vision I had in mind.

From the beginning, my dream was to create more than just a salon. I wanted a place where guests felt comfortable and welcomed, and where stylists could build a career, they were proud of-a team that supported one another with respect and kindness, while extending that same care to our customers.

Our next chapter took us downtown, next to the Pavillion. Being downtown was fun-we grew our team, welcomed more stylists, and created a warm friendly atmosphere. After seven years there, the opportunity arose to purchase our current building. With the help of my husband and dad-who faithfully remodeled each of our locations-we opened the doors here in 2010. I promised my dad this would be the final move.

When we first settled in, I imagined a bustling salon with a large staff open lots of hours. But before long, I realized that wasn't the environment I truly wanted. I came back to my original dream-a peaceful, team-focused space where stylists love what they do and build each other up. All while keeping the drama at bay. Where they care about each other and the guest we see.

The greatest blessing has been finding that balance with Tracy and Kayla. Together, we've built a salon family-one where we support each other, keep the atmosphere light and drama-free, and focus entirely on giving our guests the best experience possible.
Fifteen years later, in this location, we're still here doing what we love. I'm endlessly grateful-to my family for always supporting me, to Tracy and Kayla for helping bring the vision to life, and to all of you who have been part of this journey, some since the very beginning. You are not just clients-you're family.

And that is the story of Styleworks.
