Awapuhi Wild Ginger
Co-founders Paul Mitchell and John Paul DeJoria established a self-sustaining, solar-powered awapuhi farm in Hawaii in 1983 to use the plant in their line of hair care products. The facility is completely off the grid, powered by solar energy and uses collected rainwater as its water source, making the farm self-sustaining and minimizing its carbon footprint.
